The number 24 which is used noticeably in the book of Haggai tells us that the Lord will cause to ‘shake the Heavens & the Earth’ and then tells us of the destruction of the ‘Horse & their riders’. The next minor prophet, Zechariah then follows in the next chapter to talk about the rider of the ‘red horse’ in a time of peace on the 24th day of the 11th month. Then all 4 horsemen bringing rest to God’s spirit through war and mayhem in Zechariah 4. This dovetail’s with the ‘wars and rumours of wars’ discussed by Yeshua in the ‘Olivet Discourse’ in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21. This in turn links to the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse. The ‘Olivet Discourse’ is also called ‘the Little Apocalypse’ by the way and so the link to the horsemen of the Apocalypse and the book of Revelation have been recognised since way back. The 24th of the 9th month is the day before Hanukah on Sunday the 18th of December 2022. Are the birth pangs coming now?
The significance & meaning of the number 24
Haggai 2:20 And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying, 21 Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
Let’s like at the significance and meaning of the number 24.
The Number 24 is repeated often in Haggai 1:15, 2:10, 2:18, 2:20 and then in Zechariah chapter 1 that follows it! Coincidence? Not likely, so what does 24 mean?
The 24th Hebrew letter in the first sentence in the bible (Genesis 1:1) is a Tav, ת, which is the 22nd and last letter in the Hebrew Alphabet. It has a numerical value of 400 which is the price Abraham paid for the tomb of Macpelah and the number of men that Esau had when he met Jacob on his return to the land of Canaan. 400 is about dominion of the promised seed over creation. The number 4 is about the 4 winds, the four corners, north, south east and west. So 4 represents dominion over the earth or heaven for that matter. The overcomers of the 4th Church of Revelation, Thyatirah are promised to rule over the nations with a rod of iron. The number 24 can also be looked at as being composed of a 2 and a 4. The number 2 represents a witness and the image of God, male and female, and four represents to seed of God spread to the 4 winds. So there is an aspect of marriage to the number 24. This is alluded to in the name of Thyatirah which means ‘married’. On the fourth day the sun moon and stars are created. This reminds us of Joseph’s dream and the woman of Revelation 12 which is Zion, the Torah following Israelite Church or congregation that has purified herself of all pagan defilement.
Chapter 24 of Genesis confirms the marriage connection to the number 24 but it also infers priesthood. Eliezar, the servant of Abraham goes with 10 camels and a dowry to get a Bride for Isaac, namely Rebekah. She accepts covenant of marriage with the bracelets and returns with Eliezar to meet her Groom. This is a picture of the Bride of Messiah, Zion, accepting Yeshua and then returning to the promised land. This is exactly what shall happen in the last days for the Bride. But she shall return via the Wilderness of the People and make her way to the area of Saudi Arabia where the real Mt Sinai is. Zion shall escape from the land of the North (North America), the daughter of Babylon (the USA) and all the places where she has been scattered in exile, Jeremiah 31:10.
Let’s look at some of the instances where the 24th day is mentioned.
The Angel Gabriel, appeared to Daniel on the 24th day of the first month.
Daniel 10:4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;
Haggai mentions the number 24 in Haggai 1:15, 2:10, 2:18, 2:20 and then Zechariah mentions it once in Zechariah 1:7.
- Haggai 1:15 In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
- Haggai 2:10 In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
- Haggai 2:18 Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD’S temple was laid, consider it.
- Haggai 2:20 And again the word of the LORD came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,
- Zechariah 1:7 Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
24 Hours in a Day
John 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
Of course the hours are reckoned differently being about 6 hours out from the Roman system of time. A biblical hour cycle begins at Sundown for the 12 hour night period, which is say 6pm. And the Day begins at sunrise, say 6am. Of course the exact time of sunset and sunrise depends on where we are in the world and what season it is.
12 is about rulership, 12 tribes, 12 Apostles, 12 months in the year, 12 hours in a day. The number 24 is 12 multiplied by 2 which implies marriage of day and night or male and female, the male being related to the day and the female related to the night. So 24 is about ruling of the day and night as husband and wife. And Priesthood and some other things are also related, lets have a look.
Groups of 24, Elders, Warriors, Priests, Singers.
24 Elders
In Revelation we read of 24 Elders, again this is some sort of heavenly rulership. The fact that it is 24 means rulership day and night with wisdom and understanding.
Revelation 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
24,000 Warriors
I Chronicles 27:1 Now the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
This is 2 x 144,000 which is one of the reasons that I believe there are 2 lots of 144,000 and that Revelation 7 refers to the first 144,000 and Revelation 14 refers to the second 144,000 from Ephraim with harps in their hands, like David showing the connection between the House of David on Earth and Ephraim in the Heavens. The first 144,000 is from all 12 tribes except Ephraim and Dan. The second is just from Ephraim as stated earlier.
24,000 Levitical Workers
I Chronicles 23:4 Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:
24 Divisions of Priests
I Chronicles 24:1,4
1 Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
4 And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.
- 24 Divisions made up of 16 of Eliezars lineage and 8 from Ithamar’s family line. 16 + 8 = 24.
24 Divisions of Levitical Singers
Levitical singers were also set into 24 divisions which are listed from verse 9 of 2 Chronicles 24.
II Chronicles 25:1,31
Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
31 The four and twentieth to Romamti–ezer, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve.
Psalm 24 – Who is Qualified to Ascend to Heaven?
Psalms 133:3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Psalm 24
1 The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
The Bad guys are also in lots of 24
The number 24 also refers to the bad guys, the Nephilim. And so we will see that the giants may make an appearance during the period of time where God shakes the heavens and the earth.
II Samuel 21:20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
24,000 joined to Baal Peor
Sadly in the time of the shaking of heaven and earth from the 24th day of the 9th month prophesied by Haggai there will be many of God’s people that will be cut off due to pornography and the worship of sex and sexual immorality. This is deducted by inference from numbers 25 where those that joined Baal-Peor (Lord of the Gap/Hole). Literally virgina worshippers to put it bluntly.
Numbers 25:5, 9
5 And Moses said unto the judges of Israel,
Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baal–peor.
9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.
Summary
The number 24 represents the priesthood, the go between. Eliezer of Damascus, Genesis 15:2 represents the Holy Spirit that gets a bride for Isaac. The Holy Spirit has been doing this these past almost 2000 years. Now the Lord is about to raise up His Eternal house, but first the shaking comes and then the birth. The Lord is about to raise up the 'Kingdom of Priests', Exodus 19:6, that the scriptures speak of concerning Israel and the congregation of Israel (Zion, which is the Church of the firstborn). See also Revelation 1:6 and Revelation 5:10.
The various divisions of 24 listed above reflect this combined male and female King-Priest Melchizadek government, Genesis 14:18, Hebrews 7:1-2. This is a joint government of male femal Adam & Eve, Sun & Moon.
I hope this is a blessing to someone. The Lord is in control.
Love & Shalom in Yeshua HaMashiach
